This is the demonstration web-site for Web+Center release Version 6 operating under Linux.

This product can be operated on either a Windows or Linux based server using a single set of application code. On a Microsoft Windows platform it uses the standard IIS Server and either Access or SQL2000 for the database, while under Linux it was tested under Red Hat, using the Apache Webserver with Sun One Active Server Pages Script Engine (Chilisoft) and MySQL for the database.

This product is not a completely new development - it is a progressive upgrade from Version 5 and implements a host of new features based on user feedback and requests.

Web+Center is a suite of five integrated Web applications that use a common database

  • Tech+Center
  • Customer+Center
  • Business+Center
  • Reservation+Center
  • Pocket+Center

Should you wish to take any of these applications for a spin to see how it works, feel free to try the following links:

Reservation+Center
Reservation+Center is the latest addition to the Web+Center suite of integrated solutions, and provides a web-based reservation system. It is integrated with the Web+Center customer database and allows customers to log in and make their own reservations from an on-line graphical catalog of all items in inventory.

The kinds of items in inventory can be either of the type typically reserved by individual users (such as multi-media equipment - VCR's, Projectors, Lap-top computers...) or made on behalf of groups (such as conference rooms, athletic fields etc.). Reservation Schedules for the latter "Public" type of reservations can be viewed in either list or tabular format by all users without the need for prior log-in, but making either kind of reservation requires prior authentication by the user.

Reservation+Center administrators can create and manage the types and quantities of the items in the inventory, as well as view listings and two-dimensional charts of existing reservations. Printable delivery schedules can also be generated for those environments where reserved items are to be delivered and picked up from customer locations. In addition, administrators can make reservations on behalf of other other users who are registered as customers.

Reservation+Center customers can select an item from within the inventory via a graphical catalog display and make both single and "repeated" reservations as well as view a summary of their existing reservations together with an option to edit details within an existing reservation.

Which user interface the user sees (Administrator or Customer) is determined by which Username and Password are used to login

Pocket+Center
Pocket+Center is a optional Technician applications to allow technicians to access the Web+Center application with Pocket PC handheld devices.
